Philanthropy
Ongoing Causes
Teacake Bake Shop recognizes the importance of giving back to our communities. We have a special interest in children’s causes and have dedicated our philanthropy around these needs.
We have partnered with Children’s Hospital & Research Center Oakland and have designed a children's cupcake box in which 50% of proceeds will go to support Children’s Hospital Foundation causes.
In addition, Teacake Bake Shop partners with local children's organizations such as MOCHA (The Museum of Children's Art) to provide baked goods for their benefit event in exchange for children's art which we will display at our retail stores. MOCHA strives to use hands-on teaching for children to develop their skills through art and puts an emphasis on reaching children from low-income communities.
Teacake BAKES (Baking A Kind Equal Society)
Teacake BAKES is a program that one of our Teacake team members dreamed up. Because individuals have different causes and beliefs they support, we encourage our team to support their own causes. With Teacake BAKES, our team members take turns baking up special, original treats that are sold at our retail store. ALL proceeds from the sales of those items are donated to the charity/cause of their choice. So far, we have donated to the following organizations:
African People's Solidarity Committee
Breast Cancer Research Foundation
CancerCare
Oakland Public Library
Heifer International
Pancreatic Cancer Action Network
Christopher Rodriguez Foundation
City of Hope
Hopalong Animal Rescue
Alameda County Food Bank
